Confirmation

CONFIRMATION SUNDAY

“Come Holy Spirit; fill the hearts of your faithful.”

Confirmation is a time of Christian commitment and renewal, a time of courage and growth.  How appropriate that Confirmation in this parish usually occurs at the beginning of Spring, a time of new life, a time of year when plants have the courage to show their roots above the cold hard ground.

We celebrated the conferring of the Sacrament of Confirmation on young people of our parish.  The visiting prelate is Bishop Noel Treanor and we welcome him to St. Colmcille’s.  This is an occasion of great joy for the whole parish.  It is a time for all of us to renew our commitment to our Christian calling.

We pray that the Holy Spirit will come into the lives of all who are asking to be confirmed in their faith.  We pray for: Coleen Bergantinos, Niall Blair, Matthew Bogues, Michael Bungay, Leanne Calgo, Shaina Calgo, Cara Collins, Denver Camilo, Louis Cannet, Lance Corales, Vohn Galang, Nico Ganacias, John Gildea, Vincent Gomez, Amber Gregg, Conor Hatfield, Eoin Hollywood, Alicja Janiszewska, Julia Jablonska, Panel Kostka,  Rafal Kurzynski, Jack Lamont, Kristelle  Lobregas, Noel Lobregas, Niamh Mallaghan, Matthew McLaughlin, Charlie McMullan, Tyrone Napier, Emilia Pijewska, Eliana Rivera, Alice Shuttleworth, Adrian Michal Siewinski, Janiel Sison, Sandra Sztejn, Patricia Talens and Michael Walsh.

“Send forth your Holy Spirit and they shall be created,

and you shall renew the face of the Earth.”

Welcome to St. Colmcilles...

Welcome to our Parish Web Site. The Parish of St. Colmcilles is located in East Belfast and our church, is on the Upper Newtownards Road. We are approximately 2 miles from the city centre.

The purpose of the Website is to give our visitors, and every member of our parish family, information about the times we celebrate the liturgy of the Church and also to inform people about the various ministries, groups and organisations in the parish; what they do, where and when they meet and whom to contact if you would like to know more about them.

Please feel free to browse our pages to learn more about us.

Safeguarding Our Children

“Along with the family, the parish has a key role to play in promoting and protecting the rights of children.  This means that within the parish, the families, schools and groups work together in creating a safe and caring community in which children can develop and mature.”
